Peran Pemuda Dalam Pembangunan Berkelanjutan
The SDGs is built on the success of the Millennium Development Goals (MDGs) and aim to go further to end all forms of poverty. The new Goals are unique in that they call for action by all countries, poor, rich and middle-income to promote prosperity while protecting the planet.
They recognize that ending poverty must go hand-in-hand with strategies that build economic growth and addresses a range of social needs including education, health, social protection, and job opportunities, while tackling climate change and environmental protection.
Clearly we can’t do this alone, 17 SDG is EVERYONE Project so we need colaboration from each element of society, all of us must go hand-in-hand, government sector, private sector, and general public sector. But there are a lot of obstacles until this very moment for example lots of people don’t know what SDGs is, many of us especially youth pretending everything is OK, they won’t take part for SDGs. Ironicaly those problem is hitted in many countries in the world. This is clearly our responsibility as youth to change it.
Many of us don’t realize that we have a great power this time. Especially this time. It’s called internet. Internet can reach our whole world, we can spread our ideas (SDGs), our action, our opinion, our movement, we can spread and share anything we want in a blink of eye. And we can’t deny the fact that internet has grown rapidly. Everyone is connected by Internet, it means there is no physical boundaries at all, it means everyone has the world in their hand by internet. We can use social media such as: Facebook ; Twitter ; and Instagram , we can use website aswell. Things to realize is we own the internet, especially youth. It’s simply because we have grown up with internet.
As has been discussed previously our main challenge is how we can embrace people around us, because clearly we need them for succeed SDGs. Creative graphic design such as e-pamflet, e-flyer, e-brochure, and infographic will be effective to spread. Not only static design, we could use video-infogrphic and website aswell. Because people tend to ignore the “newspaper” information, they won’t read a big pile of words. So the presence of creative information is very critical point.
In my opinion, it will be effective if we are targeting youth. Because regarding to tempo.co 80% of internet user is youth. They could access the information easily. With expectation they will share the information and knowledges to others. One ripple to another ripples. I strongly believe that youth is the main key solution to make SDGs come true. We should, we must ACT now. So lift up your thumbs, type it on your keypad, and share the knowledge. It’s now or never.
